SOE hack

Post by gleenwood »

Hey all -

This sucks!

Does this mean we all get a free month once it comes back up?
SOE will grant customers 30 days of additional time on their subscriptions, in addition to compensating them one day for each day the system is down. It is also in the process of outlining a "make good" plan for its PlayStation®3 MMOs (DC Universe Online and Free Realms). More information will be released this week.
I think its the least they can do before we open our wallets again and trust them with a CC. I'm going to buy cards here on out when I'm active.

According to the announcements, only bank account information from certain Europeon countries was accessed. I believe they mentioned 4 countries.

I would expect to see promos once the integrity of their system is secured.

Welcome back, Yushu!

WB, now you should have 120 days + each day its been down. I've been reading up on quests and stuff to get ready to play again.

If you want to read about it, Allah's is keeping good eye on the situation on their home page.

Hey Turlus! How you been doing man? I miss you and Toadloc! I've been playing a bit on test, but recently moved to a TLP (time locked progression) server, Vulak. I play with megolash and Nefril, if you recall him. I'm gonna hop back over to test for a week or 2 I think, I miss Kyresta :P

You plan on ever coming back to EQ? Are you playing Rift? I heard about how the classes are like WoW, honestly, not sure I cared for that. I played a mage on WoW as well as a Warlock and Hunter. I guess it was kind of neat in ways. I guess I'd have to play it to know.. What server/Realm you and Toad on?

Looks like they are down now till Friday.

what toad said. Also looks like anonymous is to blame for SoE and PSN downage

"Sony has been the victim of a very carefully planned, very professional, highly sophisticated criminal cyber attack."

"We discovered that the intruders had planted a file on one of our Sony Online Entertainment servers named “Anonymous” with the words “We are Legion.”

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/ ... entatives/

"The activist group Anonymous announced their intent to attack Sony websites in response to Sony's lawsuit and, specifically due to Sony's gaining access to the IP addresses of all the people who visited geohot's blog, terming it an 'offensive against free speech and internet freedom'."

EverQuest: Players with an active house will be credited one month of upkeep costs and the inactive period will be extended from 90 to 150 days.

active house?

Whats the "inactive period will be extended from 90 to 150 days" mean?

wonder if they could be more vague...
