Anyone have a problem with EQ patching on Vista? It keeps giving up on Everquest.exe.

Yeah there is some kind of issue with the patcher and Vista. I think it has to do with admin privileges. You might try searching on the EQlive forums.

Two things:

create a link on your desktop
right click and go to properties.
Under compat set two things:
- Run as administrator
- Run in compatibility mode "Windows XP SP 2"

Those are the first two things to try.. next, hit the forums like Brutul suggests.

If it's your machine, set your main login account as admin.. there's really no reason not to be an admin on your own machine, and too many badly written programs require admin level access (even though there's no reason to).

if running as Admin does not work, try disabling the user account control, can re-enable when done patching, that worked for me on vista64 8)

Awesome, I'll try that. As far as the machine goes, it's a Mac Pro running Vista. I have to keep assuring it I still love it.

Running as admin and compatibility mode worked. Downloading expansions - 4 and a half hours to go. Guess the Mac stays running overnight :).
