Got a new tower..reloaded EQ. Everthing appeared ok, but when I try to run from TestEverQuest icon, and run launch...it copies all the uploading files to Desktop also..plus my est. time is INCREASING. I patched regular EQ just fine. Any ideas?

This is a wild-ass guess, but did you drag the testeverquest executable to your desktop instead of making a shortcut to it?

Aye, would be my guess too. EQ dls files to the same location as the .exe file.

aye that was it loading all there. well not all. Usining titanium edition and quits at disc 5 *sigh*. Playing around with a few ideas today.

Even if you only have a partial install, you can patch the rest via the test patcher.

Find the install directory and click on the testeverquest.exe file and it should patch the rest of the files for you. I forget now, but I think the install directory used to be c:\program files\sony\everquest (Going by memory as I never use the default install directory).

Even with a fast connection this route takes a long, long time, but it does allow you to get all the needed files if the install discs arn't working.

I have made the same mistake, do not drag the icon from you EQ folder, just create the short cut. It worked for me!

LOL ty for ye comforting words..felt pretty silly once I read it (and I've done it before meself...ye'd think I'd remember the sillier stuff).

Still stuck..patched, and once I hit "play" it poofs. I'm leaning towards me video card/driver combination. so might be awhile yet. Thanks for the words of comfort though...very lonley out here with no contact! LOL

This has happened twice to me. The first time I couldn't play for a couple weeks... and then I rebooted and everything worked fine. The second time I remembered after only a couple days of frustration.

Not saying that was your problem but in my case EQ didn't like Civ and wouldn't load unless I rebooted before switching games.

Jen tech support... when all else fails... reboot and hope.
